This Program is not a partnership project in the usual form, but draws on our experience working with many partners in providing a training program for the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) to use with its UN Police Peacekeepers (CivPol). It is an example of how our training programs can be adapted for diverse specialized needs. Prof. Davies has led training programs for senior UN Police stationed both in Africa (gathered in Senegal), and worldwide (in Moscow in 2005), working with UN training personnel to ensure that they can continue to offer or adapt the training themselves in future years.

 

Slides for the 2-day version of the trainings are provided below, and are supported with extensive background teaching materials and cases. The emphasis here is on working with conflicts at the local and community level because this is where UN Police have the best opportunities for working with local stakeholders to manage and mitigate conflict.
